Who is Roronoa Zoro in One Piece?

Roronoa Zoro is a swordsman originally from the East Blue who was a bounty hunter in his early days. So he won thatNickname pirate hunter Zoroin the world of One Piece. Zoro began his journey in the One Piece anime with two unnamed katanas and the Wado Ichimonji Blade. Zoro invented the three swords technique, so he always carried three swords with him. Sandai Kitetsu (Kitetsu III) is classified as a Blade Class (Wazamono), a class lower than Zoro's other swords. Kozuki Sukiyaki, a famous blacksmith in the land of Wano, created this sword. When Zoro impressed the weapons dealer Ipponmatsu with his skills in Logue City, he gave Zoro this blade along with the Yubashiri sword for free. This sword is considered cursed (as recognized by Zoro) and said to bring tremendous suffering to its wielder.

However, Zoro tried his luck against this cursed sword, throwing it high in the air and stretching out his arm. He wanted to see if the sword could cut his arm. Yubashiri is one of the 50 Ability Class Blades, which are high-end swords but still rank between the 21 Great Blades and 12 Ultimate Blades in One Piece. The sword has belonged to the Ipponmatsu family for generations. Dazzled by Zoro's swordsmanship and luck with the Sandai Kitetsu, Ipponmatsu decided to give Zoro this sword for free as well.

Zoro called the Yubashiri a sword that was very easy to control as it was light but still had the sharpness to cut through a Sea Train carriage without too much effort. As good as this sword looks, it didn't stick with Zorro for long.

Shu ate the Sabi Sabi no Mi (rust rust fruit)devil fruit, which gave him the power to rust and damage anything he touched. When Zoro challenged him to a fight, Shu immediately used his Devil Fruit powers to ruin the Yubashiri sword. Ryuma's corpse and sword were stolen by Gecko Moria, who then went to Thriller Bark. This is how Zoro faced and defeated the zombie version of Ryuma in Thriller Bark. The zombie decided to gift Zoro his impressive sword after being blown away by his swordsmanship.

The Yubashiri sword was replaced with this one until Gyukimaru took it away in the land of Wano.
